We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with the Northwest Editors Guild. Based in Seattle, Washington, the Guild connects editors from around the Pacific Northwest Region (Washington, Oregon, and Idaho) of the United States and beyond, now offering membership nationwide in the US.
The following benefits are now available for members of Editors Canada who live outside the United States:
- Register for Northwest Editors Guild conferences, webinars and online courses at the same price as Northwest Editors Guild members. Please watch this space for discount codes as Northwest Editors Guild provides them.
- For access to Northwest Editors Guild’s free members-only events, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Please note that access to Guild mentoring, discussion lists and other members-only services is not included in this partnership.

Guild member Elena Abbott will host the Scholarly Editing in the Humanities Happy Hour at 5 p.m. PT. We’ll enjoy a virtual happy hour, share insights, and discuss relevant topics. Bring your burning questions and your collaborative spirit. This meeting is open to Guild members only.
Thursday, November 9
Join Guild members Melissa Haskin and Beth Hutchason at 4 p.m. PT for Editors Helping Editors, where we’ll work together to solve event-goers’ quandaries and questions, which could range from common questions, like how to find clients in a particular field, to more situation-specific issues, like why a particular macro isn’t working in Word. This meeting is open to all editors.

The Editors of Color Coffee Hour, hosted by Guild member Jesi Vega, begins at noon PT. All editors of color (regardless of Guild membership) are welcome to share experiences and explore the possibilities of a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable editing profession.

Editing with Disabilities/Chronic Illness, hosted by Guild member Kyra Freestar, begins at 10 a.m. PT. This morning chat centers people who work as editors and are living with disability and/or chronic illness. It is open to everyone.

Join us at 6:30 p.m. PT for our November Member Meeting, Making Your Business Accessible with Mary-Colleen Jenkins. We’ll cover some easy best practices to start employing now, and share resources for further exploration.

Guild member Rudy Leon will host the Developmental Editing Happy Hour at 5 p.m. PT. Join us for an informal chat about this fun and fascinating variety of editing. All editors are welcome.

The Technical Editing Meetup, hosted by Guild members Katie Atkins and Sarah Bailey, begins at 4 p.m. PT. Join a friendly discussion of editing in technical fields, open to all editors.
