Editors Canada invites all experienced industry leaders to submit webinar proposals on the following topics for the 2025–2026 cycle. Members and non-members of Editors Canada are welcome to apply. We offer competitive rates of pay to all webinar presenters.
The topics are organized into different streams that we hope to offer during this cycle. We are also open to other suggestions.

This submission cycle, we will offer an increased rate of pay to presenters who propose webinars on the following topics:

- AI for editing, publishing and writing
- Inclusive language and editing
- Expectations of ongoing professional development
- How editors should work with each other
- Current legal and/or ethical considerations for editors
- Conscious language
- Accessibility
- Acceptable error rates and productivity rates
- New software, applications, websites or tools for editors
- New careers for editors in the age of AI
The French Editor
Any French webinars on the topics listed throughout this email will also be eligible for an increased presenter fee. Feel free to share this opportunity with your French-speaking colleagues.
Direct Commissions
This year, we are also looking for specific titles to add to our programming. If you are qualified to lead a course in one of the following areas, please fill out a proposal to that effect:
- Editing film and TV scripts
- Essential structural editing skills
- Essential stylistic editing skills
- Essential developmental editing skills
- Introduction to book editing
- Introduction to independent publishing
- Introduction to the publishing process
- Introduction to knowledge management
- Strategic pricing in the changing market
Panels and Roundtables
In addition to our informative and instructive series of webinars, we will also be introducing panels and roundtables into our training offerings. The purpose of this type of training is to generate an hour-long discussion on a given topic from three professionals with different sets of expertise. For example, a successful panel on strategic pricing would include speakers with different specializations and levels of experience. An Editors Canada representative will host each panel or roundtable by introducing each speaker and managing technical operations. Please ensure that one participating speaker is prepared to lead the discussion and moderate throughout.

Those wishing to present a panel or roundtable should submit a group proposal with one representative identified as the contact for the group.
Now Introducing the Editing Essentials Training Day
This year, we will select a number of webinar proposals to be part of our Editing Essentials Training Day, a conference-style day-long event consisting of multiple panels, webinars and networking sessions. Access to the full event will be available at a discounted rate. Each webinar will also be available for purchase individually at our regular webinar rates. Each panel will be available at adjusted rates. Networking events will only be available to attendees of the full training day event. This event will be held virtually via Zoom.

The deadline for proposals is June 24, 2025.
