I’m as passionate for the literary arts as I am working with my hands and have cultivated bridging the two. 

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Glass and a Red Seal Journeyman Welder certification, I possess a firm grasp of what’s necessary to communicate a process to get a desired result. Between those trials by fire, I was a registered dental technician with versatile lab experience and am familiar with dental anatomy, terminology, and prosthetics. Through all of that I led a double life exploring freelance writing and editing specializing in the visual arts, but also focusing on food and drink projects. I even provided art direction on a series of craft beer labels.

While I appreciate a finely honed narrative, I play to my strengths with my eye for anomalies to specialize in the quality control aspects of copyediting and proofreading. I enjoy flushing out errors and inconsistencies hiding in manuscripts and documents to help people present the most refined version of their final draft. My applicable industry training began with Simon Fraser University’s notable editing program and is supplemented by continual professional development.

My penchant for process is ideal for instructional materials, and as an experienced cook I am partial towards recipes and cookbooks. While my transferable experience caters to non-fiction and technical material, I am also available for speculative and general fiction manuscripts as the genres I’m most proficient with.
