Toronto, September 22, 2014—The Editors’ Association of Canada (EAC) has introduced student affiliates. Student affiliates replace EAC’s student memberships and are available for an annual fee of $50. This is a significant reduction on the previous student membership rate of $131.25/year.
EAC advances the interests of editors, supports them at every stage of their career and promotes excellence in editing. As such, the association is pleased to offer the discounted student affiliate rate to people enrolled in post-secondary studies who have a strong interest in editing.
Student affiliates enjoy many of the same benefits as EAC members, including the opportunity to purchase a profile in the popular Online Directory of Editors.
“We’re delighted to give students an affordable way to join the association,” says EAC president Jacqueline Dinsmore. “With the introduction of student affiliates, we’re looking forward to having more students be a part of EAC. We also hope that the new option of educational affiliates will create opportunities for partnerships with educational institutions and more training for editors.”
EAC promotes editing as the key to effective communication. The association sets professional editorial standards and delivers high-quality training and resources for editors.

The Editors’ Association of Canada/Association canadienne des réviseurs began in 1979 as the Freelance Editors’ Association of Canada to promote and maintain high standards of editing.
