1. NATIONAL OFFICE: EAC welcomes a new executive director
The EAC national executive council is pleased to announce the appointment of Marta Horban to the position of executive director. Marta is a past executive director of a not-for-profit cultural centre and Toronto student residence, as well as a former editor. She is fluently trilingual (English, French, Ukrainian) and holds an AB (French and Russian) from Bryn Mawr and an MA (Comparative Literature) from the University of Toronto. She has taught French as a Second Language, French translation, Russian literature and several other subjects at Trent University, the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto, where she also received an award for her teaching.
Marta replaces outgoing executive director Lynne Massey, who steps down at the end of the year. She will join the office staff on November 20 to commence the orientation and handover period.
