5. SHOWCASE YOURSELF: You can be the next volunteer host on Editors Canada’s LinkedIn page
You may have seen on LinkedIn that the marketing and communications committee has started a new initiative: LinkedIn Hosting.
What is the hosting initiative?
This month, Editors Toronto Katherine Morton is the volunteer host for the Editors Canada LinkedIn page. The host creates engaging posts about language and editing, freelancing and other topics related to the association.
What’s in it for the volunteer hosts?
Volunteer hosts feature themselves on the Editor Canada LinkedIn page. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills, promote yourself, and increase your visibility as an editor and a member of Editors Canada.
How long does hosting last?
The volunteer host creates content and posts on the Editors Canada LinkedIn page for one month.
Are there guidelines for the initiative?
Volunteer hosts receive a Host Guide with basic rules and tips for on-brand, professional content posting, and access to a branded image library.
How do I sign up?
Email Tali Ijack to express your interest in becoming a host. Please include the month that you’d like to host the Editors Canada LinkedIn page.

7. NEC: Notes from your national executive council
I hope you all enjoyed a fabulous and safe summer in whichever part of the country you live!
Although the national executive council (NEC) does not meet during the summer months, the committees and task forces have been hard at work preparing for a busy fall. This fall, we look forward to an exciting line-up of webinars, the professional certification exams, and, of course, the much-anticipated launch of the new Editors Canada website.
The NEC met again on September 10. A recap of the meeting will be included in the October e-news. As a reminder, meeting agendas are posted to the website in advance of each meeting. Meeting agendas include the Zoom meeting information, and members are welcome to join and observe the meetings.

President
The national e-news update is produced on behalf of the national executive council by the national office.
