Dear members and student affiliates,
Following Monday’s update on Online Directory of Editors search engine optimization, a member notified the national executive council (NEC) and the national office of a privacy breach where member contact information (such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses) could be accessed by people viewing the source code of directory listings, even if the member had chosen to suppress these details in their published listing.
On the morning of Friday, May 16, 2025, our IT suppliers applied an emergency patch to keep suppressed information out of the code of directory listings. The national office will continue to monitor the situation and keep the NEC informed.
