I am a professional book editor and author mentor with a focus on developmental (substantive) editing and line (stylistic) editing. Currently based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, I have been editing books, both fiction and non-fiction, since 2012.

I am open to editing website copy, manuals, and textbooks if the fit is right.

I have found most client success working in the following genres:

– Fantasy/Science Fiction: I am also the lead editor and publisher of an annual anthology in these genres.

– Business/Self-Help: I have completed substantive editing for clients who have achieved bestseller status in the self-help genre. I’ve worked with CEOs, business coaches, academics, and visionary leaders.

– Crime/Thriller/Mystery: Perhaps my favorite books to work on. I am particularly strong at editing/writing action scenes, and I pay special attention to pacing/flow.

– Historical Fiction: My background in and love for History is evident when working with Historical Fiction clients. I completed a Bachelors in History at the University of Alberta in 2011. I have also ghostwritten several books in this genre.

Rates (in CAD):

Sustantive/Developmental Editing: $0.029/word (i.e., 50,000 word MS = $1450.00)

Copyediting: $0.026/word (i.e., 50,000 word MS = $1300.00)

Formatting: $500-$1500 (Rates vary per book)
