Profile

With my background in literature, writing, and teaching, I bring the heart of a writer and the mind of an English professor to your fiction.

Robin Editorial — Your Words Taking Wing! Developmental Editing and Stylistic Copy Editing

Looking for a prize-winning fiction editor? Look no further! I specialise in speculative fiction (science fiction and fantasy), romance, general fiction, and children’s fiction (all levels, from picture books in prose or rhyme through middle grade up to young adult) for self-publishing and traditionally publishing writers. Progressive Christian fiction welcome! Please, no erotica, military SF, or horror/ dark paranormal work.

Literature and language have been my passion since childhood. I hold a BA in English Literature and Liberal Arts (Concordia University), an MA in English (University of Toronto), an MA in Creative Writing (Concordia University), and most of a PhD in English and Literary Theory (ABD) (McMaster University). In 2020 I completed Simon Fraser University’s online Editing Certificate to polish my professional credentials, and I pursue ongoing professional development (because I’ll always be a student at heart 🙂 ).

I’ve previously volunteered for Editors Canada on the Student Relations committee, on the Hamilton-Halton twig executive, and as a conference session host. Currently I ‘m Featured Volunteer Coordinator, writing profiles of our valued volunteers throughout Editors Canada. I’ve received the Editors Canada President’s Award, and in 2024, I was honoured to receive the esteemed Editors’ Choice Award from the Christian Editors Association.

Years of teaching, volunteer editing in numerous contexts, and writing and analysis of fiction and non-fiction have honed my instincts for writing that reaches the heart and mind of the reader—writing that is clear, powerful, and beautiful. Your writing, made its best self with my help.
