Allister Thompson

I am the editor of award-winning adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction. 

I have been an editor for over twenty-five years, working in-house at several book publishing companies and also freelance.

My specialties are fiction of all genres, but especially sci-fi, fantasy, and crime fiction. I also have extensive experience in all children’s genres.

I have designed and laid out book interiors and covers, done photo research, fact-checking and website updates and have been involved in book production (dealing with printers, getting quotes, proofing galleys, etc). I have worked with dozens of authors published by both traditional publishers and authors who have successfully self-published their work.

Many books I have worked on have been shortlisted for awards like the Arthur Ellis Award for crime fiction and the Silver Birch, Red Maple, Norma Fleck, Hackmatack Children’s Choice and CLA Children’s Book of the Year awards for children’s books.

I have also edited for several government agencies, libraries and a leading museum.
