Editor Profile

Anthony Nijssen

Profile

I am a professional freelance editor, owner of APT Editing, looking to expand my business and pick up new clients. I am happy to do any developmental editing, copy editing, or proofreading work in any field. My core experience is in academic articles and organization reports and publications, and I have a niche specialization in editing tabletop roleplaying game rulebooks, worldbooks, and adventure modules. I am also on the Editors Canada publications committee, providing copy editing and project management services to keep various projects flowing.

I am based out of Toronto, but am flexible to work in any time zone globally as necessary for the right projects.

I would love to pick up some projects outside my areas of specialization to continue developing my skills, especially in the areas of fiction (any age, especially the genres of speculative fiction, science fiction, or fantasy), poetry, and governmental reports.

Recent projects include “Impacts of Customization and Wraparound Supports for Digital Skills Upskilling” (a report by Toronto Metropolitan University’s Diversity Institute), “Sine” (an upcoming TTRPG coming to Kickstarter in 2026), and the soon-to-be-released “Editing with Respect: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Handbook 2025” from Editors Canada.
