Profile
I
help academics at every level produce cleaner, more persuasive theses,
articles and applications. Decades of
experience with teaching, supervision, research, publication and grant-writing give
me an understanding of the challenges you face—as a student, faculty member or professional—getting your
written work finished and your contribution accepted. Whether its audience is a
selection, thesis or hiring committee, a journal editor or publication house, I
help you to highlight your strengths, sharpen your arguments and focus your
language.
My own work gives me
access to the language of theory, policy and practice across a range of fields:
the natural and social sciences, ecological, social and risk assessment,
landscape architecture, urban planning and design, commerce, moral and
political philosophy, and psychological health. Editing projects have added fields such as immigration law, academic department management, COVID-19 impacts,
DEI history/ philosophy/initiatives and China studies.
I have worked with a wide
range of individuals and organizations across Canada and Europe whose first
language ranges from English and French to German, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic. The English
I use can be tailored to Canadian, American or British readers.
When you bring me into
your work, we will form a writer-editor team. I will be available at short
notice for your questions and I will need you to be available for mine as we
work together to meet your deadline.
Editing is a pleasure. Please
feel free to contact me with questions.
I work at all levels of the writing process and will edit a page to give
you a sense of the difference it can make.
