Brock Peters

As a freelance editor I offer a variety of professional editorial services including copy editing, proofreading, and structural editing. I also run Galley Creative Co. with my wife, Sarah. We specialize in helping clients develop their book-length projects from manuscript to finished product. An experienced graphic designer, Sarah handles the visuals—and as an editor, I handle the text!

I am a Certified Copy Editor through Editors Canada, and consider copy/stylistic editing and proofreading to be my areas of expertise. I work as a sessional proofreader for Manitoba’s provincial Hansard, and sit as treasurer on the Winnipeg International Writers Festival board of directors. I hold a BA in English from CMU, with minors in mathematics and theology.

I bring a lifelong passion for literature and the written word to each of my projects, as well as experience from many different facets of the literary world. Some of my personal interests include social and political justice, small businesses, Christian spirituality and theology, music (especially the bass), and aviation. In addition to individuals, nonprofits, and businesses, I have worked with publishers like Portage & Main Press / HighWater Press, Goose Lane Editions, and Coastal West Publishing, and I write promotional pieces for Prairie Books NOW.

Whether a novel, a nonfiction work, a graphic novel script, an academic publication, or an annual report, it would be my honour and privilege to work with you on your next project.
