Hi there! As an editor with 20+ years experience, I have a unique ability to read a piece of writing through various lenses to connect the writer’s message to what the reader needs to hear.
But I’m not a jerk about it!
I’m a writer, too, so I understand how vulnerable the editing process can be. That’s why I aim, always, to draw on empathy and heart to guide writers from start to finish.
I specialize in guiding memoir and life writing authors through the emotional process of sharing their story—what you’re legally allowed to write about, how you can reduce friction with those you are writing about, and how to carefully and sensitively open up the most raw parts of yourself—while also paying attention to the creative elements of good storytelling.
I do also work with fiction writers, as well as general non-fiction writers, and I’ve also edited several children’s books.
Aside from books, I’ve worked on journal articles, blogs, informative articles, web copy, reports, emails, educational resources/curriculum material…you name it, my eyes have likely seen it.
I also offer book coaching to authors of all levels for accountability, goal setting, and confidence building—emerging authors especially have told me how helpful book coaching is to learn writing techniques, industry information on publishing, and to stay on track.
Reach out if you’d like to chat—I promise, I’m not scary!
Working with Christine has transformed not just my manuscript, but my relationship to my own writing. When I first came to her, my meoir read more like a raw journal than a book. Through her structural edits, thoughtful questions, and deeply humane feedback, she helped me shape it into a story for others without ever asking me to betray the heart of it.
Christine has that rare ability to see both the emotional core and the architecture of a narrative at the same time. She doesn’t impose a vision on your work; she listens for the one that’s already there and then gently clearly shows you how to bring it forward. Her edit letters and in-document comments were spacious, specific, and endlessly encouraging—I always felt stretched, never crushed.
She held my family’s story with so much care, especially around the most vulnerable and tense sections, and I trusted her completely as we navigated what to reveal and what to protect. I emerged from this process not only with a much stronger book, but with a new confidence in my voice and a clearer sense of myself as a writer.
I feel incredibly lucky to have found her in a sea of editors. If you’re looking for someone who is both technically brilliant and a truly wonderful human being, I cannot recommend Christine highly enough.
