Eve Rickert

An Editor’s Canada certified professional editor with two decades of editing experience, I focus on the natural sciences, sustainability and Indigenous issues. I believe you can convey your message clearly, concisely and beautifully whether you’re a university researcher or a government manager, and whether you’re talking about prions, dandelions or land rights.

I hold a master’s degree in environmental studies and a certificate in editing. I have in-house editing experience at D&M Publishers Inc. (former owners of the Douglas & McIntyre, Greystone Books and New Society imprints), Royal BC Museum books, the magazines Conservation and High Country News, and the journal Environmental Practice. Among many others, my clients have included the International Institute for Sustainable Development, the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment, the Council of Canadian Academies, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, the BC Ministry of Environment and Parks Canada.

In addition to my own writing and editing experience, my firm, Talk Science to Me Communications Inc. (www.talksciencetome.com) provides full-service publications support, working with associates to offer solutions for everything from small editing jobs to large, complex projects involving editing, print or web design, project management and specialized research. We also support small presses and self-publishing authors through the publication process, including creating and managing crowdfunding campaigns to support their books, and we manage all editorial and production matters for our own small press, Thornapple Press (www.thornapplepress.ca).
