When you write a document, come up with a set of instructions, or design a pattern, you want your audience to understand. You want them to act, to follow the steps, and to make your design in the way you intended it.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to see where you might not be achieving that goal. You know what you want to say. You know what you mean. You know what the next step is. You know what you are implying. But your audience might not.

It’s like that for everyone trying to communicate something by using words on paper. Nobody can spot their own typos!

As your editor, I can help. I will be your first audience. I will help you make your writing clear, accurate, and coherent. I will help you reach your target audience and get your message across.

Copy Editing & Proofreading

I love copy editing and proofreading as they allow me to get down to the nitty-gritty of a text without ever losing track of the message as a whole.
Once you have written your text, I can help you polish your work as your copy editor, proofreader, or both.

• As your copy editor, I carefully check grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage throughout your document. I also make sure that everything in your text is correct, accurate, consistent, and complete.
• And as your proofreader, I complete a final check of the document to identify and correct any remaining errors in the text and the visual elements.

My main areas of focus are fiction editing, arts & cultural documents, and craft patterns. But I’m interested in many topics and in editing different types of documents. The wide variety of topics and the possibility to learn new things are what originally attracted me to an editing career.
