Editor Profile

Gabrielle Ruloff

Profile

A former academic, I specialize in memoir and historical and biographical fiction, but have experience with many different types of documents. In addition to fiction, I’ve worked on academic texts, handbooks and manuals, travel articles, and online sports columns.

Structural editing is my strong suit; my previous experience teaching university writing has been invaluable in learning how to help writers shape their manuscripts. I provide thorough, valuable feedback and believe in having a lot of correspondence with my clients before and after the edits. Additionally, I offer a range of editing services, including copyediting, rewriting, fact-checking, web adaptation, and more. I am Vancouver-based and available to meet with local clients in person, on the phone, and online.

I hold a Certificate in Editing from SFU, as well as a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature. I am interested in almost anything in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and get as excited about medieval literature as welterweight boxing. A cat person who also likes dogs, a Canucks fan who does costume design for local theatre, there’s very little that’s not intriguing to me.
