After several years of in-house communications work, I launched my freelance career in 2003. Today, I head up Cadmium Red Communications: a writing and editing agency in Guelph, Ontario that helps businesses, government and organizations of all sizes produce compelling publications, from blog posts to technical manuals. 

My background lies in science (I have an MSc in biology), and I bring particular strength in health, sustainability, agriculture and engineering. That said, I chose freelancing because I love the diversity it offers, and I have happily tackled topics ranging from the performing arts to office furnishings. 

Clients praise my reliability and keen attention to detail, whether I’m scrutinizing tables of data, tweaking the tone of a formal report or tightening overly long content. They also tell me I’m a pleasure to work with.
