Kate Peters

I’m a copy editor, proofreader, and Japanese to English translator, helping writers improve their clarity and craft engaging messages. I specialize in editing work written by writers whose first language is not English, as well as improving texts that have been translated to sound more natural and clear in English. With a background in language teaching, I help people improve their communication and presentation skills beyond the written word. I currently edit part-time for a Canadian English learner resources company, I teach communication skills to learners of English and Japanese, and I do a variety of freelance copy editing, proofreading, and translation projects. I regularly use Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Excel and Word in my work, and I specialize in US English (my original English), Canadian English (my adopted English), and Japanese (my second language). Other languages I am learning include Scottish Gaelic (A2) and German (A2).
