Profile

A partner with West Coast Editorial Associates and a Certified Professional Editor, I am most experienced and skilled in three areas.

First, I train and coach workplace writers on using plain language techniques to make their writing easier to read, understand, and use. In addition to developing and delivering writing workshops for a variety of government, corporate, and non-profit clients, I teach proofreading as part of Simon Fraser University’s Editing Certificate program.

Second, I write corporate and family history books for clients like Ledcor, MNP, Smith Bros. & Wilson, the descendants of second Vancouver mayor David Oppenheimer, and the late Wendy McDonald of BC Bearing. I also occasionally blog about BC’s bookselling history at agreeableplace.com.

And third, I edit and proofread a variety of non-fiction publications such as cookbooks, government and corporate material, business titles, and general trade books.

In all these areas, clients appreciate the ease of working with me, my calm and proactive communication style, and my attention to the details.
