Sandra McIntyre

A fiction specialist with twenty-five years of experience both in-house and freelance, I offer a range of editorial services. Developmental editing, manuscript assessments line/stylistic editing and book coaching make up the bulk of my work, but I also regularly edit short fiction, book proposals, query letters and children’s fiction.

Think of me as your editorial driving instructor. I might occasionally course correct with a gentle guide of the steering wheel or pump that second set of brakes to adjust the pacing, but mostly I’ll sit in the passenger seat and talk you through it. You’re the driver!

I work hard to understand each client’s unique vision to support them in reaching their writing goals. I receive stellar reviews across the board from my writer-clients. 

I also occasionally teach creative writing courses and webinars on a range of topics related to writing and publishing. In fall 2025, I offered a webinar on “the basics of novel structure” through the Writers’ Union of Canada and workshops and blue pencil sessions at the inaugural Cavendish Literary Festival.
