Sara Fowler

I am an experienced plain language non-fiction editor and proofreader who specializes in material that explores the human experience: psychology, religion, and spirituality, as well as the arts, memoirs, and biographies.

Known for my meticulous eye and creative approach, I work with authors to enhance the clarity of their words while honouring the essence of their voice. I bring both precision and sensitivity to nuanced subject matter to help shape narratives that engage and inspire readers.

For over 16 years, I have edited both in-house and freelance for a wide variety of document types: non-fiction books; historical narratives and expert witness reports for use in Indigenous-Crown litigation; arts curriculum resources for K–6 classrooms; instructional manuals and chance find procedures; print and web-based newsletters; event programs and posters;  and large multi-author impact assessments reports. 

Since 2017, I have served on the Editors Canada Ottawa-Gatineau branch executive.
