Profile
Writing is hard. I can help! I’m an experienced academic editor, commited to providing efficient and engaged service. Dissertations, theses, open textbooks, journal articles, monographs and beyond are all welcome. I love doing citation and reference formatting (especially Chicago, MLA, APA).
I believe strongly in collaborative work, empathy, and kindness.
I am quick and thorough, and I love to help. I’m here to support you!
My editorial experience includes: editing and citation formatting of all kinds of academic writing for university faculty and graduate students; editing an academic journal; supporting post-secondary students in writing and editing at all levels, as both a tutor and a learning strategist.
I have a PhD in History, and I’ve been a grad student, RA, TA, course designer, instructor, academic journal editor, learning strategist, and academic support professional.
I have substantial experience working with folks with a spectrum of disabilities and from a diverse variety of backgrounds.
For my MA thesis and PhD dissertation, I wrote about the history of Canadian women war workers during the Second World War, focusing in particular on the intersections of labour, beauty culture, bodies, gender, consumer culture, advertising, and heterosexuality in war plants and in visual representations.
PhD, History, University of Victoria, 2016
MA, History, York University, 2008
BA Honours, History and French, York University/Glendon College, 2007
