Laura Bontje (Editors Kitchener-Waterloo-Guelph) celebrated the release of her third picture book in early October. Marian’s Big Dig (published by Groundwood Books, with illustrations by award-winning artist Scot Ritchie) is the story of a rock-loving girl who is so certain she’s found a fossil that she sets out to build an entire dinosaur—though her parents keep mistaking her discoveries for household objects.
