Membership fee increase effective March 15, 2020

Dear members,

In accordance with the association’s Membership Procedures (PDF, 75 KB), Editors Canada’s membership fees will increase by 2% on March 15, 2019. This cost-of-living increase keeps our membership fee in line with inflation. It also allows the association to continue funding member services and programs while working on the long-term sustainability of the association.

  • The fee for memberships will increase to $292 (from $286).
  • The fee for two-year memberships will increase to $555 (from $544).
  • The fee for emeritus members increases to $146 (from $143).

This letter provides you with three months’ written notice of the increase in accordance with the Membership Procedures.

We have a lot to look forward to next year!

  • Editors Canada is hosting the International Editors Conference 2020 in Montreal. This global event takes place every five years. You don’t want to miss this one!
  • We’re planning to publish two Edit like a Pro ebooks (the new edition of Meeting Professional Editorial Standards) tailored to meet the needs of editors and students studying editing in college and university programs.
  • We’ll look for more benefits of membership and continue to support the great perks we already offer, such as free access to the Chicago Manual of Style online.
  • We will be offering more webinars than ever to expand your skills. Members receive an average discount of 40% off the non-member price.
  • We’re making it easier to participate in our John Eerkes-Medrano Mentorship Program.
  • We’re focusing on spreading the word about the value of editing, our members and our association.

If you have any questions about the budget or Editors Canada priorities, please email treasurer@editors.ca.

Sincerely,
Michelle Waitzman
