We launched the online edition of Editing Canadian English, 3rd edition, in February 2015. This subscription service provides instant, on-the-go access to the latest guidance on Canadian English usage, from Canadianization to spelling, abbreviations, punctuation, measurements, bilingual text and more. Subscription sales were lower than we had hoped for and there have been unsustainable IT costs required to support the online version. As a result, the national executive council decided at its November 2017 meeting to discontinue this edition once our current subscribers’ contracts end.
We have stopped taking new subscriptions for EditingCanadianEnglish.ca. We have also let current subscribers know they will continue to enjoy access to the online edition until their subscriptions end. Once their subscriptions expire, they will not be renewed.
While the online edition is going away, we’re pleased to offer this reference guide for everyone who writes and edits Canadian English in two convenient formats.

We have just launched the eBook version of Editing Canadian English, 3rd edition. Like EditingCanadianEnglish.ca, the eBook contains all of Editing Canadian English, 3rd edition, and Editorial Niches.
